Deadline to register: Friday, January 15, 2016

Level: Intermediate

The Government of Canada Workplace 2.0 Fit-up Standards (GCWP2FUS) were officially released in April 2012 and in working towards its Blueprint 20/20 objectives, the Federal Government continues to modernize its workplace. The Standards reflect current trends in office design including reduced space allocations, inclusion of collaborative space, new layouts and sustainable design principles.

The objective of Workplace 2.0 is to create a modern workplace that will enable public servants to work smarter, greener and healthier to serve Canadians better. Workplace 2.0 is a government-wide approach that modernizes how public service works. Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) recently renamed Public Services and Procurement is leading the way with these standards.

If you are involved in government of Canada fit-ups, this webinar will provide you with the tools you need to understand and apply the GCWP2FUS. This session will provide an overview of the Accommodation Management Framework, GCWP2FUS, Funding Accountabilities, Space Allocations Standards, Guidelines on Special Purpose Space, Policy on Duty to Accommodate, the Non-Compliance Process, as well as highlight the benefits and lessons learned from completed projects. You will also learn how to use the Space Allocation Standards Calculator and define worker profiles. Photos of recent projects across the country will be shared and an opportunity will be provided for PWGSC officials to respond to your questions about Workplace 2.0 and designing for the federal government.
