The hospital of the future integrates technology in a variety of ways: from the conception phase to building completion, consideration of the aging population – both the patients and the hospital employees – must be taken into account. The physical size of patients is a new challenge as well as the types of new equipment specified. Storage of information and how evidence based design impacts the technology used in hospitals today will all be examined.
