Join BCSEA for the next webinar in its exciting 2017 series, High Performance Housing: Better Homes for BC, on April 11th from 12 – 1pm PST. Click here to register!
In this webinar, facilitated by James Glave, we are joined by Gary Hamer, Residential Specialist Engineer with BC Hydro’s Advanced DSM Strategy group, and Bob Deeks, Vice Chair of the Net Zero Energy Housing Council of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association. Together they will discuss the many aspects that constitute a high performance house from both a technical and financial perspective. They will provide attendees with an understanding of the many home performance labelling options that are available and key things to keep in mind when approaching planning for and building a high performance home.
Using case studies from successful projects from across BC, Gary and Bob will provide an overview of BC’s housing industry activities including the upcoming provincial Energy Step Code. The latter is a proposed provincial opt-in standard that aims to create healthier, more efficient, and more comfortable new buildings by establishing measurable energy-efficiency requirements for new construction.
The webinar will consist of a 40 minute presentation from the two speakers, followed by a Q&A session in which the public are invited to ask questions on the subject of high performance housing and the future of BC’s net zero developments. The webinar is free to attend, all you have to do is register!
This webinar is made possible with support from BC Hydro.
