In this course various topics will be discussed including how design and furniture factor into the various areas of healthcare. This seminar will examine the different areas of care: cancer care; aging; inpatient versus outpatient care; caring for the caregivers; how to deal with the diversity of cultures; as well as form versus function.

Additional topics of discussion will include:

Cleanability and infection control
Movability and versatility
Sustainability issues including LEED, Net 0 carbon footprint and manufacturing proximity.
