Residue: The Persistence of the Real
Artist Talk / Robert Burley/ in the Gallery, 3rd Floor Courtroom
Toronto-based photographer Robert Burley’s gives an illustrated artist talk about his documentary-based practice and extended project The Disappearance of Darkness currently on view in the exhibition Residue: The Persistence of the Real. The Disappearance of Darkness (2005-2012) examines the abandonment and demolition of the photographic film-manufacturing facilities and industrial darkrooms that have become obsolete with the rise of digital photography and smartphone cameras.
