Monster Houses | Neighbourhood Zoning Walk

In response to the outcry over “monster houses” in the late 1980’s, the City of Vancouver drafted RS-3A Design Guidelines for Shaughnessy between 37th and 41st Avenues, from Granville to Cypress. Come explore with Author and Historian, John Atkin, how design has evolved in the last 25 years in response to guidelines whose intent were to preserve and maintain single family housing character, in keeping with neighbourhood amenities and preserving outdoor spaces, trees and views.
