L A M P 2016’s Opening Reception kicks off on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:00pm and runs to 12:00am at JAN KATH Studio, 505 Railway Street, Vancouver, BC, V6A 1A7.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Price of tickets include a 1 year Digital Subscription to AZURE Magazine. (a value of $25.95)
Main Street Pilsner on tap / Red & White Wine – $5.

L A M P (Lighting Architecture Movement Project) is showcasing the Top 20 Finalists for this year’s 4th annual International Lighting Design Competition. Judged by industry design leaders 132 submissions from around the world were voted on under three categories: Student, Emerging & Established designers.
The Top 10 of both Emerging & Established categories will be featured at the L A M P exhibit Opening Reception.
The esteemed panel of judges for 2016 included: Niels Bendtsen (Bensen); Jakub Zak (Patricia Urquiola Studio); Joana Bover (Bover); Rosie Li (Rosie Li Studio); Andrea McLean (Andrea McLean Design Office); Allison Mills (Owner, Inform Interiors – Seattle); Ellie Niakan (B. Interior Architecture, LC, CLD); and Phillip K. Smith, III (PKS3).
L A M P aims to introduce a broader audience to lighting design while promoting and connecting emerging talent to new markets. Each year the competition challenges designers to approach their lamps with the guidance of a theme. This year’s judges made their decisions based on a set evaluation ranging from aesthetics, marketability, innovation, and unique interpretation of this year’s theme: COSMIC.
The exhibit will be open by donation from November 4-6.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
This is a private all ages event. ID is required for purchase of drink tickets.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking on street or 1 block east of JAN KATH on railway there is an open pay parking lot.
Best transport is a cab!
What is the price of tickets and are they available at the door?
General Admission 6pm – $30. Purchase in advance online. A few tickets will be available at the door.
Student & Senior Discount – $20.
Is this event catered?
No, some canapés will be set out for the early part of the evening.
What if it rains?
Come anyway. It will be cozier and way more fun than staying at home.
How much are drinks?
Main Street Pilsner on tap and Red & White Wine are all $5 a glass.
Do you accept debit? Cash or Credit?
We cannot accept debit card transactions unfortunately. Nor are cash machine available. We advise to bring cash. We do accept Visa & MasterCard but there is a 2.65% per swipe processing fee charged to the buyer to use the SQUARE card reader.
