Equal Pay for Equal Work
August 22, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm$25
Have you been looking for an event that is geared towards meeting and engaging with your fellow CCW members? If the answer is yes then we have the event for you! CCW invites you to participate in our third Community Event on Tuesday, August 22nd 2017 at Turner Construction Company’s office in downtown Vancouver where we will discuss Equal Pay for Equal Work.
Equal pay for equal work is a struggle that women have dealt with in the workplace for years. The statistic generally used is that women are paid only 80 cents to the dollar when compared to men doing similar work. How do we bridge this gap? Is this something that we can counter? How do you promote yourself and demand that your work is as valued as the work done by your male counterparts? We will endeavour to learn some techniques from each other in order to better tackle this issue as we move forward.
The goal of our community events is to allow our members to connect on a personal level and to share their experiences as a woman in the construction industry. There are no speakers or panels; the discussion points will come from those who are attending. We will provide the space, the snacks and the icebreakers – you provide the desire to connect! Tickets are only $25 and include small bites and drinks.
Space is limited so we encourage you to register early. We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Please note – This event is not a sit down dinner although we will have some small bites available for you.
