City Conversations | Your Vision: How to Get To, From and Around Granville Island

After Niagara Falls, Granville Island is Canada’s most visited destination. But Emily Carr University’s coming move to Great Northern Way has triggered the need for an update. Transportation is a big issue: the island is choked with cars; buses drop people blocks away; pedestrians and cyclists share narrow walkways on the Granville Bridge (which was designed as part of a freeway which wasn’t built). One success: the False Creek Aquabuses.

Planners want to hear your ideas for better ways to access and move around Granville Island. Get out your wish list! Think out of the box! Now’s the time to fix Granville Island’s problems, celebrate its successes, and insure its sustainability for the next 25 years.
