Building Performance Modelling: A holistic approach

January 28, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

$10

Overview

As the building construction industry adapts to more stringent energy use requirements, an understanding of how all phases of a project are impacted by earlier decisions can help performance over an entire life cycle. Tonight, we will look at how policy, design, andservice life intertwine to provide a holistic model of energy performance.

Speakers will focus on each particular impact on building performance modeling, followed by a group panel discussion.

A joint collaboration with IBPSABC. Refreshments will be served.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand how civic policy can impact building energy modeling practices of the entire project life cycle
  2. See how new energy modeling techniques can benefit the design process, and how the assumptions made at this stage impact operation
  3. Learn to plan for the operations phase of a project through case studies of optimizations attainable through post-occupancy evaluation
