Workplace Workshops: Employee Rights

How much are you worth? Does your workplace give you as much as you give it? Join us to learn about your rights, and standard office practices, at the Workplace Workshop, Thursday, November 9th, 6:00 pm at Symmetry Lighting.

The workshop will include experts in labour rights, professional relations, and the architecture job market speaking on issues commonly faced by women in the architectural field, such as: intellectual property rights, overtime expectations, maternity leave, salary and benefits expectations, terms of dismissal, and what steps to take if rights are not being met.
The goal of this session is to provide architects at all stages of their career with knowledge of their workplace rights and expectations, and tools to negotiate for benefits and professional development.

The format will be brief presentations by each panel member followed by a moderated discussion open to the floor.
